The company is looking for a Legal Counsel to join the team in Riga and provide day-to-day legal support to the business as it continues to grow.
About the Role
We are looking for a Legal Counsel with a solid legal foundation and some practical professional experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone who already feels confident with core legal work but wants to further develop expertise specifically in FinTech and Payments. Previous industry experience is not mandatory — we are open to candidates from other legal backgrounds who are motivated to move into the payments industry.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, and other legal documents with clients, partners, and service providers.
• Provide legal support for products and business processes related to payment services, acquiring, open banking, and other FinTech areas.
• Prepare, review, and update internal legal policies and procedures.
• Provide practical legal advice on day-to-day business matters and ad hoc requests.
• Support internal projects from a legal perspective.
• Work closely with business teams to identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Communicate and negotiate with counterparties and coordinate with external legal advisors when required.
• Degree in Law and a strong understanding of core legal principles.
• Approximately 1+ year of professional legal experience.
• Practical experience with contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work confidently with legal documentation.
• Practical and business-oriented approach to legal matters.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Motivation to develop expertise in FinTech, Payments, and financial services.
• Previous experience in FinTech, Payments, Banking, or another financial services environment will be a strong advantage.
